Have you seen my Childhood?
I’m searching for
the world that I come from
‘Cause I’ve been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart
No one understands me…
They view it as such strange eccentricities
‘Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me…
People say I’m not okay
‘Cause I love such elementary things
It’s been my fate to compensate,
for the childhood I’ve never known…
Have you seen my childhood?
I’m searching for
that wonder in my youth
Like pirates and adventurous dreams,
Of conquest and kings on the throne…
Before you judge me,
try hard to love me,
Look within your heart
then ask…
Have you seen my childhood?
People say I’m strange that way
‘Cause I love such elementary things,
It’s been my fate to compensate,
for the childhood I’ve never known…
Have you seen my childhood?
I’m searching for
that wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams I would dare,
watch me fly…
Before you judge me,
try hard to love me.
The painful youth I’ve had…
Have you seen my Childhood?

The first time I noticed Michael Jackson was in the news. He was showing his new-born baby by a window of a hotel to the media. Since that I often hear comments about him mostly implying how odd his behavior was. Somehow I never quite believed it, until the day I heard this song and carefully read through the lyrics. I was sincerely touched, these words are so powerful, I cried and felt I can almost feel how painful he was. Suddenly this thought came up to my mind: If you’ve never exactly been through all the events that others have been then you can’t easily come up with “I know how you feel” because no one can really feel the pain in that little boy’s heart, not even himself when he grow up he’s trying to make up what he had lost during his childhood. He bought all the cool toys in the all world, make friends with kids and even buy himself the neverland, those are still not enough. Not because he’s greedy, it’s just what happened to the boy was already done, and no one can fix the past.
Some give opinions easily, some give intense suggestions, some give hush comments, but only God knows how broken those hearts are.
May he rest in peace.
